The Constitution of SUSTA (Revised)

Preamble
The Federation of Ukrainian Student Organizations of America (Союз Українських Студентських Товариств Америки) is established with the intention of fostering cooperation among Ukrainian Student Organization and promoting their interests at large.
Article I – The Constitution
Section 1. The Constitution shall serve as the supreme governing document of SUSTA.
Section 2. Any amendments to the Constitution may be passed exclusively by a two-thirds absolute majority of SUSTA members present at the Congress.
Section 3. Interpretation of the SUSTA Constitution is permitted through the passing of by-laws. By-laws may cover issues not addressed in the Constitution, but must clearly not contradict any of its outlined rules and principles.
Article II – The Congress
Section 1. The SUSTA Congress is to act as the supreme and exclusive legislative power of SUSTA. It shall convene at least once a year.
Section 2. The SUSTA Congress will consist of delegates of members in good standing with SUSTA. A quorum of fifty percent of active members is required for the Congress to be considered in session. The quantity of delegates eligible for voting shall be distributed in an equitable, yet fair manner.
Section 3. The SUSTA Congress shall elect the SUSTA Executive. Voting shall be conducted through secret ballot.
Section 4. Any SUSTA member in good standing may self nominate for holding of a SUSTA Congress. Nominations will be reviewed and approved by the governing executive and ratified by the SUSTA Executive. Members of the respective SUSTA member holding a Congress must appoint a Chair of Congress. The Chair of Congress will report to the governing executive on relevant issues concerning the wellbeing of the Congress. The SUSTA Executive may withdraw the right of a member to hold Congress should it have evidence of severe misconduct. Representatives from the member holding Congress may not hold a position on the governing executive.
Article III – The Executive
Section 1. The SUSTA Executive shall act as the governing body of SUSTA. It shall consist of the governing executive and the board at large. The Chair of Congress shall participate as a non-voting member of the governing executive. The Executive shall be responsible for effective SUSTA governance, execute all decisions made by the Congress and uphold all the tenets prescribed in the SUSTA Constitution and by-laws.
Section 2. The governing executive shall include the President, Executive Vice President, Business Director and Director of External Relations.
Section 3. The rest of the SUSTA executive will be made up by the board at large. Four regional vice presidents, Alumni Coordinator, Director of Operations and the Director of Technology will serve as members of the board at large.
